MASHA KRASNOVA-SHABAEVA

Masha Krasnova-Shabaeva is an illustrator based in Rotterdam, she was born in Ufa, Russia. Masha works digitally creating a mixture of figurative artworks inspired by an interest in architecture, and surreal images that seem like memories, using distortion and alternating planes. Masha has written and illustrated several comic books as well as worked on animations, artworks for clothing and record covers. Editorially she has worked for Bloomberg Businessweek The New York Times, Esquire, de Volkskrant, GQ, The New Yorker, McSweeney’s and The Guardian amongst others. Masha has undertaken several large scale commissions for fine art institutions and museums for museums and institutions including the National Railway Museum in England and Zeeuws Museum in The Netherlands
