Harriet Lee Merrion is an illustrator based in the South-West of England. Her work is hand drawn and combines a variety of personal influences from Japanese woodblocks and intaglio print-making to Surrealist paintings. She has worked regularly on book covers and illustrated books including the non-fiction titles ‘Warriors, Witches and Women’ and ‘The Art of Simple Living’ as well as an illustrated version of Margaret Atwood’s novel Oryx & Crake published by The Folio Society. She produces portraits for The New York Review of Books and Tricycle and often works on editorial commissions with sensitive subjects involving health and wellbeing.
Harriet has created artwork for seasonal campaigns for Tiffany & Co., animated promos for National Geographic and branding and packaging for Flamingo. Her work has been used for products and games produced by Laurence King Publishing and Running Press.
Harriet Lee Merrion created a series of over 58 illustrated assets that were animated for National Geographic's documentaty series, Queens.
The first nature documentary to focus on the matriarchal animal kingdom, the show features an all-female supporting cast of directors and producers, whilst Harriet worked with an all-female team at And/Or to create the animation representing each matriarchal society featured on the show including lionesses, elephants, whales, hyenas and bonobos and bees
Harriet Lee Merrion created a series of 60 illustrations for 'Yoga Teacher in a Box' Sixty illustrated cards showing a wide range of accessible yoga practices including movement, breath and meditation for all abilities published by Skittledog, an imprint of Thames & Hudson
