In an 18-month long commission Jonny Hannah created a body of work for the Museum of Hartlepool and Hartlepool Art Gallery entitled ‘Shipbuilders and Fisherfolk’
Jonny was invited to make a presentation outlining a proposal to visually explore and celebrate the history of Hartlepool. This proposal won him the commission and from this point on Jonny undertook his own first-hand research with a variety of unique approaches to gather accounts of Hartlepool life
The two joint exhibitions opened as part of a programme of events planned to coincide with the annual Tall Ships Race which returned to Hartlepool in 2023
